The Outage and Anniversary Sentimentality Empty The Outage and Anniversary Sentimentality

It has happened. The Final Outage. The Last Blackout. The original Teen Homeschool Talk has switched over to its final cloud hosting, to that great server in the sky-

Okay, sorry for the melodrama.

The "original" (okay, okay, it's not technically the original THT, but I'm calling it that for ease of use) THT's hosting has finally expired, and I have decided not to renew it. No one actually uses the website, and everyone has had ample time to save any data they want. If there's anything you need off the old website, let me know and I'll do my best to find it for you. And not just from the most recent version of the old website -- any version. I backed up everything several times over the course of THT's life. It might take some trawling to get at it, but I should be able to find it for you.

I may end up renewing THT's domain name and pointing it at this website. This will most likely help our member situation. There are a fair number of links to the original THT on the interwebs, and by pointing the domain at this site I'll be ensuring that anyone who tries to visit will end up here. I'm not certain whether doing this will break links to, so if this website suddenly becomes inaccessible, try going to plain old

It's mildly painful for me to turn my back on the website framework I spent so much time working with, but I'm also relieved to be done with it. Being in charge of the more technical aspects of a website like THT is very time-consuming. Since the difficult back-end stuff of this website is managed by a team of experts, I don't have to worry about any of that and can instead focus on building THT as a community.

Now, since it's sort of THT's two-year anniversary (It was technically on Tuesday, but whatever.), I'd like to thank THT's members for their support, and for making us what we are today. Whether you've been with us from the beginning or joined us somewhere along the way, you've helped turn an empty platform to a semi-lively (or at least not completely dead) forum. I thank you for that. When I started out on this poorly-planned journey two years ago, I couldn't have imagined the amazing people I'd meet or the impact they would have on my life. I'm so lucky to have met you people.

Right. Well, I'm going to wrap this up before I dissolve into even more sentimentality. If you're still here, thanks for reading, and thanks for bearing with me through all the website changes. Here's to making THT's third year its best yet.
