Plays and Embarrassing Things
Have any of you ever been in a school play?....or since we are homeschooling.....a community play?
Last year, 8th grade, the height of awkwardness, I decided to try out for the school play. (I wasn't homeschooled last year) I was very shy at my private school, didn't really like speaking out much. I'd get SOOOOOOOOO embarrassed....However, I had been in the same school for 10 years, and I was the oldest person in my 8th grade class, so I decided WHY NOT? The play turned out to be Annie. Of course. I wasn't Annie material...so I tried out for Miss Hannigan. I got the part, despite my lack of actually being able to sing, and thus the play practices started. I just remember having to act all drunk and dance around with the other characters and ripping the heads of little dolls, and smacking little girls. Embarrassment. The best part was that it completely helped with my self-confidence.
If you've never been in a play before, just share one of those times that you look back now and want to be like "WHYYYYYYY???!!!!!"

Re: Plays and Embarrassing Things
I remember once in fourth grade I was in a play with my class. Everyone only had about one line, so we all passed around a microphone.
When it was time for me to say my line, I was supposed to pick up the mic and I didn't. I remember feeling really embarrassed. But, hey, I was in fourth grade.
That's the only time I've been in a play, I think. Acting isn't my thing.

When I was in 6th grade (At least, I'm fairly certain it was in 6th grade.), I was in some weird version of Snow White. But instead of 7 dwarfs, there were two. To be quite honest, I couldn't tell you which two (I think Doc was one of them). Anyway, I played one of the dwarfs and we had no microphone, so I don't think anybody could hear my line, because I have such a soft voice. Gosh, that was an interesting experience. I remember that the music teacher (who was running the play) had to take out a line for me that said something about Snow White's attractiveness. Yeah...
