Storymaker: Short Version
First topic message reminder :
This is an idea I've had knocking around in my mind for a while. It's also aripped-off modified theatre game. The premise is simple: A story built three words at a time. Each person gets to put in three words per post. They can be any three words, as long as they make sense with the rest of the sentence they're in. You can use your three words to advance the plot, make a description, or do whatever else you think would benefit the story.
Before you start, here are some rules and things to keep in mind:
- No double-posting. Even if you could write something, like, so awesome.
- Punctuation is powerful. This isn't going to be one long sentence. If you think it's appropriate, end the sentence with your post.
Use punctuation to your benefit. The only thing you can't do is modify punctuation in previous posts. Which brings me to another rule...
- No post-editing! OK, OK, you can edit if you made a major typo or something. Just don't go completely changing your three words.
- Your three words don't have to be exciting. If you think "he said tiredly." would contribute more to the story than "explosive blueberry muffins!", that's probably best. We are going to need a fair number of mundane posts. Everyone will appreciate them.
- Posts that don't make any sense in context will be ignored or removed.
- New people (if we get any): Don't feel like you have to ask permission before posting. Just jump in! The more people playing, the more fun this will be.
- Make no mistake, this story is going to turn out completely weird. That's the point! Just have fun with it.
- I am going to post a long version of this, in which each person gets to write one sentence per post.
Ready? I'll start. First three words:
Darkness descended upon
