Observations and Truths

Post by Starry on Sat 22 Dec 2012, 10:23 pm

First topic message reminder :

Ever observe something that really, really, really, really needed to be shared? Ever realized something so undeniably true that you had to share it with someone?

Yeah, so have I. I usually share these observations/truths with the first person or people available. These lucky people usually think I'm insane. That's why I started this topic. We need a place to share these things with people who understand our craziness.

There are really no rules for this thread. Just don't use it only to chat. You CAN chat, but please put at least one observation or truth in each post. It would also be nice if you'd separate your on-topic discussion from your off-topic discussion. []s, {}s, spoiler tags or hide tags would work well for this.

Have fun!

- Automatic logout will never cease to annoy me.

- I am going to try coffee once I get my braces off.

- I took advantage of my homeschooledness and took a walk down a snowmobile trail.

- Deserted bridges are cool.

- Desert bridges are strange.

- Being called a person's girlfriend by that person is somehow delightful.

- Vague essay prompts are frustrating.

- It's hard to get any schoolwork done when you left all your textbooks at work.

- Unexpected days off are generally pleasant.

- Wooden plank bridges are nicest when there aren't huge gaps between the planks.

- Scratch that, they're nicest when you're walking across one with someone you like.

- I am one lucky girl.

- Tip for the younger homeschoolers: Don't put off putting your transcript together.

- Blue-light-tipped electronic cigarettes look somewhat similar to the Tenth Doctor's sonic screwdriver.

- It's easy to see why someone might mistake an electronic cigarette for a sonic screwdriver when the object in question is being viewed over Skype.

- I have accomplished nothing today.

- I should go take a walk.

- Just when I can consistently remember my sister's age, she turns another year older.

- People of any age can be really competitive about sports.

- Joining a team could be a great experience, though.

- Not that, you know, I'm going to practice what I preach on this matter or anything.

- Balsam Firs smell amazing.

- Nothing interesting happens to me for weeks, and then suddenly...everything interesting happens.

- Sometimes, spending time with someone just makes you miss them more.

- There's not much to do on my island besides wandering around aimlessly, but even that can be fun with the right person.

- People cannot register for the SAT if registration is not open.

- This is apparently a difficult concept for some people to grasp.

- You know you have a good father when he gets up at 5:30 AM to drive you an hour and a half to some lard-forsaken corner of your state so you can take a test.

- I kind of think the muffinman's post rank should be changed to "Aeromuffin."

^I would pay good money to see this.

- I would like to hear about Eppie's possible exciting news.

- Much as I sometimes complain about homeschooling, I will always be grateful to my parents for homeschooling me.

-It took me zero seconds to recognize Sarent when he walked into my parents' store.

- It also took me zero seconds to grin like a loon.

- It took me slightly longer to navigate the labyrinth of showcases.

- We have lots of shiny things at the store.

- Many of the shiny things are in showcases.

- It feels like I have been writing course descriptions all day.

- It's possible to miss someone in more than one way.

- As of yesterday, I've been in a relationship for two months.

- I'm glad I switched THT to this format, 'cause there's no way I would have been able to keep it next year if I hadn't.

- Starry should have gone outside today.

- Starry starts talking about herself in the third person when she's stressed and/or overtired.

- I am not often called adorable.

- It is quite nice being called adorable by someone you find adorable.

- A Starry wielding a power drill is a scary thing.

- A person could hang drywall in a prom dress. FACT.

- You know the top part of a folding ladder, the part that always says you shouldn't stand on it? Don't stand on it.

- I didn't injure myself today! cheers

- I do not always react the way I should.

- It's entertaining reading old chatlogs, journals, and posts.

- It can, however, be entertaining in a painful way.

- It's going to snow tomorrow. Glare

- Sometimes one can only say "aww."

- You can read the chatlogs and posts. The journals are...in a difficult format. The format known as "Starry's artist handwriting."

- It is probably best not to ask your mother whether she is going to pick you up after a class while she's half asleep.

- It's probably best not to listen to what your mother says when she's half asleep and present it as fact to your father.

- I spent a very long time in town today.

- It. Is. Snowing.

- I am simultaneously uncomfortably hot and uncomfortably cold.

- Wanting to read Starry's artist handwriting and being able to read Starry's artist handwriting are two very different things.

- "Too many pictures" is so subjective.

- It is very snowy in the land of Wisconsin.

- I feel like I complain about snow an awful lot.

- Complaining about weather is the local pastime.

- Complaining about people complaining about the weather is another local pastime.

- I think I just complained about people complaining about people complaining about the weather.

- It's cold in this room.

- Few universities can boast a sauna in every residence hall.
